Experience

Skills & Capabilities

What I do.

Twenty-five years of hands-on work across the web, distilled into a few areas I know deeply — built on real experience as an end user, consumer, website developer, and system administrator, and kept current with today’s technology so it stays ahead of tomorrow’s threats.

Areas of expertise

Infrastructure & Servers

Server provisioning and management, dedicated hosting, colocation, DNS, email, backups, and the uptime operations that keep everything running.

Security & Operations

Monitoring, patching, hardening, offsite backups, redundancy, and the maintenance discipline that keeps infrastructure resilient under pressure.

Web & WordPress

WordPress builds and management, site migrations, and performance and SEO grounded in real hosting constraints rather than theory.

System Administration

Linux administration, automation, registrars, and the reliability engineering that decides whether a system survives a bad week.

How I approach the work

Own the stack

Control as much of the infrastructure as is reasonable, and depend less on anyone else’s good behavior or weak defaults.

Redundancy by default

Offsite backups, no single point of failure, and fail-safes built in before they’re needed — not after.

Security as discipline

Treat security as ongoing operations — monitoring, patching, and hardening — rather than a one-time checkbox.

Stay ahead

Keep learning the cutting edge so defenses and decisions are ready for tomorrow’s threats, not just today’s.
